ABOUT ME

I was born to be an Interior Designer. As a young child I would sit in my classrooms, mentally critiquing the space and envisioning what I would do differently. I knew that when I grew up I wanted to be a teacher so that I would have the best looking classroom. That is, until I learned that there was an actual career that would allow me the opportunity to design not only classrooms, but any building interiors...and exterior spaces for that matter.  For fun, my mom and I would play "While You Were Out" and rearrange the house. My dad and I would trespass on construction sites to check out the process of building construction and imagine how they would turn out. Beyond my inherent passion for Interior Design, my life experiences have help guide the particular direction I'd like to take my career.

Working in restaurants and bars for several years got me thinking about how design could influence not only the patrons' experiences, but the employees' work flow and abilities, and in turn, the business. Also, having been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout my life, I started applying these same thought processes to the hotels I stayed at. As a matter of fact, I can't not think like a designer in any aspect of my life. Whether it's the apartment complex I'm living in, the salon at which I get my hair cut, or the cafe I grab lunch at, I can't help but think about what is great about a space or what I would do differently. While I am currently working in Commercial Interior Design and Architecture, and enjoying the projects and learning a great deal, it is what I have experienced that has fueled my interest in Hospitality and Multi-Family Design. As I further my career, I am very exited for what new opportunities lay ahead!
